Loving wife (Thomas), mother (Dean (8), Darwin (8)), sister, and dear friend to so many passed away in the arms of her loving husband at Hospice Wellington on February 24, 2021 after an 20-month battle with glioblastoma (GBM). Cindy leaves behind her precious twins, Dean and Darwin, but her indelible fingerprints are all over them and will guide them throughout their lives. Cindy had a career that spanned pharmaceutical research, clinical trials, food safety, and in her most important career move she became a professional Mom of the highest calibre. Her time with her boys was far too short but it was overflowing with love; love enough to last them forevermore. Cindy will be dearly missed by those lives she touched and was part of.
Cindy was committed to making the world a better place and in her final journey will continue to help others. Cindy has provided researchers at McMaster University with tissue samples throughout her treatment, including her final donation on February 24th, 2021. The uniqueness of Cindy's contribution cannot be overstated and will significantly advance our understanding of this highly aggressive form of brain cancer, leading to more effective treatments and hope.
A Celebration of Cindy's life will take place on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph. Beginning at 10:00am in the Hart Chapel with eulogies starting at 11:00am. A reception is to follow in the Fellowship Lounge. For those unable to attend in person you are most welcome to livestream the speakers on the internet via ZOOM. Link to follow below.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Cindy Lee Graham Memorial Endowment Fund for Brain and CNS Cancer Research would be most graciously appreciate by the family. Donations can be made in person by cash or cheque or online using the QR code. All (tax-deductible) funds go directly to groundbreaking GBM research enabled by Cindy's gift - it will help give hope.
Finally, the team at Hospice Wellington were simply incredible and provided Cindy and her family a level of peace that will be forever remembered. Their tireless and kind work is worth supporting.
