At the Guelph General Hospital on Thursday, May 20, 2021 after a long battle to recover from a sudden stroke. Craig Yarmey in his 57th year, was the beloved son of Dan and Judy (Sutherland) Yarmey. He was the loving father of Victoria Yarmey of Guelph and Eric Yarmey of Calgary. Craig was the dear brother of Linda Yarmey (Omar Marin) and Meagan Yarmey. He was the cherished uncle of Mattias Marin and Alex Yarmey. Craig was the valued nephew of Peter and Jo-Lynn Sutherland of Toronto and dear cousin of Daryn, Daina, and Jamie and their families. He was nephew to Carla Palmer & Mark Jadkowski of Hampton, Maine and their extended family. Jana White of Baden was Craig's devoted and loving partner. Craig will be very greatly missed by all of those who knew him.
Craig was a graduate of the University of Guelph (Honours Economics) and Queen's University (Master of Business Administration). He was an avid skier and devoted soccer Dad. Craig was a huge dog fan, especially his goofy German Shepherds, Sammy, Thor and King. He loved a good BBQ or an enthusiastic discussion on finance, history or politics – and kept you on your toes. If there was time in his busy schedule, a good story from Ursula Le Guin, or rebuilding his sound system would be considered.
Craig was a principled and committed man who valued his family, his friends and his clients. He was a generous soul. He will be greatly missed, always.
Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where a private family service will be held followed by interment in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph. A public Celebration of Craig's life will be held at a later date once Covid-19 restrictions are lifted. If one wishes as an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Guelph General Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Donation cards are available at the funeral home 519-822-4731 or online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
