GRIERSON DONALD EDWARD PhD, PEng. Distinguished Professor Emeritus— Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Health Centre on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the age of 72 years. Donald, beloved husband of Patricia A. (Scherer) (McCarthy) Grierson. Dear father of Joseph (Tamara) of Toronto, Kathleen Rodenburg (Kent) of Puslinch, Patrick of Guelph, Lawrence of Toronto, Maura (Scott MacDonald) of Toronto, Sean McCarthy of California, Shealah Wysocki (Marc) of Campbellville and Cormac McCarthy (Erin) of Camp Borden. Loved grandfather of Acacia, Erin, Ashley, Angela, Mary, Lochiel, Abigail, Emma, Katie, Keela, Carlin Rose. He is survived by brother Denis (Jackie) of California and sister Maureen Pitman (Wayne) of Collingwood. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Sunday, August 28, 2011, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Don's life will be held at the Church of Our Lady, 28 Norfolk St. Guelph, Monday, August 29th at 10 a.m., with interment at Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg.
