

EAGLESHAM, Doris Mabel (nee Woodfin) Peacefully at her home in Guelph, Ontario on Sunday, March 14, 2010, in her 92nd year. One of World War II's RCAMC Registered Nurses stationed at the Neurological and Plastic Surgery Hospital in Basingstoke, England. It was there that she met her husband of 53 years, Dr. Douglas Cameron Eaglesham, who predeceased her in 1998. The couple settled in Guelph to raise their family following the war. Survived by sisters Lorna Crowhurst of Eston, Saskatchewan and Agnes Benedict of Duncan, B.C. She will be greatly missed by her five daughters: Mary Eaglesham (Alan Ball) of Edmonton; Ruth Foster (John) of Belcarra, B.C.; Joan Eaglesham (Murray Clarke) of Saanichton, B.C.; Dora Eaglesham (Frank Rasmussen) of Puslinch, Ontario and Laura Eaglesham of Guelph. Loving grandmother of Alfred Ball; Emily and Douglas Foster; Erik, Emma, Paul and Colm James Rasmussen. She also leaves behind her constant and loving caregiver, Cherry Love Lim. Private cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the GILBERT MacINTYRE and SON FUNERAL HOME, DUBLIN CHAPEL, 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph on Thursday evening 7-9 p.m. In memory of Doris, donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross or to the Guelph Food Bank, or please just treasure your memory of her gardens where the yellow winter aconite now blooms.
