Douglas Royson Pollock

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas R. Pollock on Monday September 9th 2024, at the age of 84, at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton.

Douglas met his wife Carole Pollock 53 years ago at a local bar in Toronto, they would go on to have two children Doug and Darrell Pollock. Douglas was also the loving father to Royson, Christine, Michael and step-daughter Jackie Bishop.

He was the Proud Grandfather to Holli, Nikolas, Kiptyn, Keaton, Tanya, Kim, Kadi-Ann, Andrew, Justin, Raymond and Jessica and a great Grandfather to many children.

Douglas was a stone to the community of Guelph arriving in 1976 to become the Shell Fuel Agent known as Pollock Fuels on Victoria Road in Guelph. As years would go by, Douglas would become involved in the sporting community. He would either be coaching baseball or hockey or sponsoring teams for numerous years. Douglas had a passion for all sports, race horses and collectibles.

Douglas was not a comedian by trade, but if you hadn’t seen Doug for some time he would always start the conversation with a joke. He was never serious and loved his time day by day. Douglas will be missed by many people, family, friends and clients from years back.

Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be hosted at a later date.
