He is survived by his brothers Keith (Diane) Jawahir, Roy Jawahir, his sister Ramona Jawahir and his daughter Alannah Jawahir.
Born in Georgetown, Guyana on June 5, 1955, George moved to Canada with his parents and siblings at the age of 14. He graduated from the University of Toronto and McMaster University and went on to pursue careers in both the military and in medicine. He then became a highly respected doctor, practicing in Guelph, Ontario.
As well as his academic and career achievements, George was also a gifted athlete, playing football at the University of Toronto and earning his black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
George will be missed dearly by his family and extended family here in Canada , the United States and abroad, his friends and those that he treated throughout his practice.
As per his request, there will be no viewing or service.
