Gertrude "Trudy" Jane Davis

At home on November 16th, 2025, surrounded by family. Gertrude Jane (Trudy) (Lester) Davis, age 83 years, Beloved wife of the late Donald M. Davis (2006). Loving mother of Johnathan Blythe (Blanci) of Woodstock and Christopher Blythe (Diane) of Edmonton, Alberta and Don's daughters Anne Gorman of Leduc, Alberta; Jessie Dale Morrison of Scarborough and Connie Gawley of Oshawa. Survived also by several grandchildren; great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. Dear sister of Julia and her husband John Mumedjian of Scarborough, and Joanne and her husband Peter Marks of Acton, and the late Mary Glaab and her late husband Joseph; late Theresa Bush and her late husband Dan of Guelph; late Margaret Kurys and her late husband Frank and the late Gertrude Pearson. Predeceased by her parents Clarence (Cal) and Laura (Byrne) Lester.

Gertrude was a warm and joyful spirit who cherished life’s simple pleasures. She loved sailing with her husband, Don, and spending time camping with her grandchildren, creating memories they will hold forever. A devoted bird watcher, she especially delighted in spotting bright red cardinals.

Gertrude enjoyed attending weekly lectures at Third Age Learning and sharing what she learned with others. She also loved opening her home to friends and family, filling it with laughter, conversation, and good food.

She will be remembered for her kindness, curiosity, and the love she gave so freely.

Resting at the Gilbert Macintyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin Street N, Guelph. A Visitation will be held on Monday November 24th, 2025, from 2:00-4:00PM & 7:00-9:00PM. A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday November 25th at 11:00AM at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate Church, 28 Norfolk St, Guelph. Interment to follow at Marymount Cemetery, 5400 Highway 6 N, Guelph.
