Passed away suddenly at Guelph General Hospital on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the age of 80. Beloved husband of 56 years to Rosanna (Dalla Lana) Pizziola. Loving father of Daniela (Jim Prigione), Luciana (Bill Bushey), Gabriela, Lino (Patricia Stokes), Guido (Elizabeth Joudrey), and Diana (Gus Michalopoulos). Dear Nonno of Daniel (Chantelle), Matthew, James (Viviane), Alessandra (Cameron), Nathan (Lauren), Natassja, Aleksei, Giovanni, Aleck, Zach, and Dominic and Bis-nonno of Emmett. Dear brother of the late Ernesta (Luigi), late Rosa (Mario), late Pietro (Ida), late Giacinto (Victoria), late Benedetta, late Antonio, Sara (late Marco), Maria (late Giuseppe), Silvana (late Arnaldo), Stella (Livio), Bertilla (Giacomo), and brother-in-law of Silvana (late Luigi), and Fernando (Anna). Giovanni will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Dad owned his own construction company for 25 years. He loved to sing, garden, drink his homemade wine and play cornhole against his sons and sons-in-law. He boasted about his many wins. He will be missed during all birthday celebrations for his unique version of "Happy Birthday." We love you. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayer on Friday at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John's Church, 45 Victoria Rd. N., Guelph, on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
