Quietly, in Guelph, on Saturday, September 27, 2014, in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Marjorie (+1985) and Florence of Riverside Glen, Guelph. Dear father of Harvey (Marianne) Bailey of Hamilton, Diane (John) Mychael of Guelph, stepfather of Louise (Ron) Lipsett and Grant (Wilma) McKinnon, both of Owen Sound. Loving grandpa of Shannon and Sarah, and step-grandfather of Brent, Neil, Scott, Julie, Caroline, Rob, and their families. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, and their families. Survived by his sister Jean Smith of Arthur. Predeceased by his siblings Howard, Charlie, Bill, Norm, and Viola Mainland. Special friend of Frank and Betty Hagemans of Bowmanville. Harvey was a veteran of WWII and enjoyed a long career with the Royal Bank of Canada. The family will receive condolences at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Wednesday, October 1 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Three Willows United Church, 577 Willow Rd., Guelph, on Thursday, October 2 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Guelph, to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
