Hélène was the last of 5 siblings born to Louis and Marie Levassour in Quebec. She was the baby of the family out living them all and to a much riper age than any of them... 93 you know!
Hélène died peacefully and mercifully quickly after a stroke. Waiting in the wings her husband Wolfgang who has been patiently waiting 14 years for Hélène to join him for their next adventure. The motor home is gassed up and ready to roll. They sure had some marvelous travels in their retirement! Here they go again! Have fun my parents!
Loved (step) daughter Uta with her dog was by mum's side hoping Hélène could feel the love... we had just left to feed and walk the dog when mum passed.
Hélène was Hélène, little mother (which is how she always signed greeting cards to me) or step-up mum, but never stepmom. I also called her the cookie monster. Given the amount of Chips Ahoy cookies (“the red package please”) she nibbled on, she should have been as round as she was tall!
Both Guelph General Hospital and Hospice Wellington were exceptional, gentle and so caring; if desired, a memorial contribution to either or both would be so appreciated.
Thanks also to Guelph Lake Commons which Hélène happily called home for the last 8 years. And to her niece Danielle who called often and came from Quebec every September to visit her. Hélène loved to hear the stories about their constant travels throughout the world.
There will be no formal celebration; Hélène wanted to be fussed about when she was alive and she surely was!
Rest easy little mum; I've got it from here.
