KRAMER, John Kurt— John passed away suddenly, with his loving wife of 61 years, Liesel, at his side, in Guelph, on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. John Kurt Kramer, in his 83rd year, was the dear father of Henry (Teresa), Jim (Wendy) and Gustav (Lisa). He was the loving Opa of Ryan, Randy, Dustin, TeLane, Mathew, Meaghan and Spencer. John touched many lives with a career as a journeyman carpenter which brought him from Germany to Canada in the 1950's with his bride Liesel. With jobs taking him to the radar lines in the Arctic Circle and many projects in Toronto he finished his career with 20 years of service with the City of Mississauga. Retiring to the Haliburton Highlands (Monck Lake) he spent 20 years using his trade to tweak his surroundings all the while his quick smile, outgoing nature and ever ready willingness to share a story with all he met endeared him to many. In recent years, his love of dog training was rekindled and his energetic efforts were rewarded with many compliments received for both him and his German Shepard Dog, Castor. A lengthy illness brought him to Guelph to spend time with family. He will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service will be held at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the charity of one’s choice can be made (condolences may be sent to the funeral home website: www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com ).
