Lillian was born on September 13, 1924, in Summerside, P.E.I. to Albert and Josephine Clow. She was the 10th of 11 children: Robert, Victor, Edward, Kay, Margaret, Ralph, Allan, Doris, Susie, and is survived by her older brother, Edwin.
Lillian was the beloved wife of the late Frank Hersey; the loving mother of David (Betsy), Audrey, John, Judy (the late Stewart), and Keith (Cathy); the very proud grandmother of Donna, Christopher (Jenn), Erica (Mike), Michael (Alison), Jeremy, Kyle, and Keiren; and great-grandmother of Holly, John, Chiara, Carson, Cash, Mason, Maisy, Madden and Sage. She was Aunt Lil to many east and west coast nieces and nephews.
Lillian’s enthusiasm and love of life were contagious. She had a positive word for everyone she met, encouraged others through her own example, and had a wonderful sense of humour. She had an eye for fairness, equality, and respect. When needed, she stood her ground and spoke up for herself and for others. Living independently at the age of 96 years, Lillian maintained a sharp wit and continued to enjoy outdoor walks, crocheting, knitting, reading on her Kindle, and watching the Toronto Blue Jays. She was particularly fond of lively conversation with family and friends. Lillian enjoyed the many friendships she made at Silver Brook Condominiums over the past 33 years.
