Marion Jean Phillips

Phillips, Marion Jean (nee Griffith) February 24, 1925 - April 18, 2010. Marion was the eldest daughter of Ewart and Dorothy Griffith of Stratford, ON and she is survived by her sisters Mrs. Shirley Hibbard of N.Y. and Mrs. Gwenna du Charme of KW, and their families. Since the day of her wedding, she proudly signed her name, Mrs. W. K. Phillips, and she is survived by her equally proud husband of sixty years, William K. Phillips. Marion is also survived by her two sons, Brian Phillips and his partner Diana of Victoria, BC, and Dean Phillips and Victoria Coates of Belwood and their three sons, Grandma's pride and joy, William, Evan and Connor. Marion set her own course. She married an honest but dirt-poor boy from the wrong side of the tracks. They both worked hard to raise a beautiful family, to make a wonderful life and to live happily ever after. Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 9 - 11 a.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 23, 2010, at the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Interment at Memory Gardens, Breslau. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Foundation of Guelph General Hospital or St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
