Mary will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends in whom she cultivated a deep appreciation for nature. Mary lived her faith. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her home was always a place of comfort and belonging for many. Heart and home a welcoming place to share and enjoy many experiences and stories. Mary will be dearly missed by family and friends who brought her so much joy and laughter.
Following a career at University of Guelph and Homewood, Mary volunteered at St Joseph’s Hospital and Hospice. Prior, she was a founding member of Sunnydale School, Guelph’s first center for special needs children, which later became Guelph Wellington Community Living.
Mom believed her greatest accomplishment was her family. Our understanding of what it means to be kind, compassionate and resilient is thanks to her as a role model. Throughout her life Mom expressed how blessed she has been, but really, we are the ones blessed by her guiding presence.
Special thanks to an incredible community of support and care for Mom; Dr. C. Vogel and team, Dr. S. Brodovsky, Bayshore Palliative team, with special thanks to our nurse Kaitlyn. Our gratitude also to the exceptional staff at Peace Of Mind, especially Gina, Mel, MJ, and Sarah, who brought sunshine to Mom’s days. To Dr. L. Danescu, and to many family and friends who visited and supported us.
