Patricia passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Centre LTC, Guelph, with her family by her side, at the age of 77, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and faith that will forever guide those who knew her.
She was the beloved wife of John for 58 wonderful years—a partnership rooted in deep devotion, shared laughter, and unwavering support. Together they built a life rich in family, tradition, and cherished memories.
She was the loving mother of Krista Phillips (David Phillips), and a proud and adoring grandmother to her treasured grandsons, Brandon Phillips and Dylan Phillips, whom she affectionately called her “boys.” Patricia was also one of 13 children and, as the eldest, naturally stepped into the role of nurturer, protector, and second mother to her siblings—an early testament to the giving, resilient spirit she carried throughout her life.
She is survived by her sisters and brothers: Diane Ridler, Dorothy (Peter) Humphreys, Ruth (Mike) Brown, Rita (Edmund) Weibe, Donna (David) Preiss, David (Janet) Wyszynski, Sandra (Brian) Ridler, James (Dixie) Wyszynski, Nancy (Neil) Vanderlip, and Paul (Lori) Wyszynski. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Patricia is predeceased by her parents Walter and Virginia Wyszynski, her brothers Donald and Thomas, and by her infant son, John Mark, whom she now joins in eternal peace.
Patricia was a devout Catholic, and a dedicated member of the CWL, whose faith guided her daily life. She was a working mother, known for her remarkable ability to multitask, and her talent for keeping a household organized and running smoothly. A natural leader with a warm heart and a firm hand, she was both a loving wife and a giving sister.
Her kitchen was often the heart of her home, filled with the comforting aromas of all her amazing dishes and the warmth of family gathering around her table. She was thoughtful, humble, and always ready to lend a hand or offer a kind word. A true social butterfly with a big heart, Patricia cherished time spent with friends and family, creating connections wherever she went. Patricia’s love, laughter, and unshakeable spirit will be deeply missed, yet lovingly carried forward by all who were blessed to know her. May she rest in peaceful, eternal light.
