Phyllis Pawlowski

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Phyllis Margaret Pawlowski, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Hospice Wellington on October 28, 2025, at the age of 75.

Born in Alberton, Prince Edward Island on January 4, 1950, to Ray and Elsie Ahearn, Phyllis grew up with a deep appreciation for family, laughter, and life’s simple joys. She later moved to Guelph, Ontario, where she met and married the love of her life, Ted Pawlowski. Together they shared 51 wonderful years of marriage, a bond that began when they were sweethearts at the age of 19.

Phyllis was a devoted and proud mother to Annette (Brad McNey), Jason (Melissa Bye), Candice (Clint Graham), and Holly (Luke Ponsonby). Her greatest joy came from her family, and she cherished her role as loving grandma to Evangeline “Evie,” Conor, and Abigail “Abby.” She is survived by her dear sister-in-law Irene Talbot and mother-in-law Maria Pawlowski, as well as her nieces and nephews Johnny Innis (Wendy), Angelique Talbot (Stacy), and many beloved Ahearn family relatives throughout Ontario and the East Coast. She was also a proud great-aunt to Odessa.

Phyllis will be fondly remembered for her warmth, humour, and zest for life. She delighted in simple pleasures—candles, cherubs, free online games, and Hallmark movies—and had a lifelong love of country music, especially the voices of Patsy Cline and Brenda Lee. Always ready with a smile or a song, her quick wit and infectious laughter brightened every room. She loved people watching, game shows, playing cards, and could happily lose herself in a good word find or sudoku puzzle.

Visitation will be held at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home – Dublin Chapel (252 Dublin St. N., Guelph) on Saturday, November 1st from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated by the family.

Phyllis will be dearly missed by all who knew her but forever remembered for her kindness, humour, and the love she gave so freely.
