

WELSH, Sterling Cleveland – We are sad to announce the death of Sterling in his 69th year, on November 12th, 2010. He leaves one son David, two stepchildren Joanne (Bob) Fischer of Fergus and Bob Welsh of Toronto. He leaves six grandchildren Kristina, Michelle, Paul, Heather, Brittany and Victoria and great grandson Joshua. He is survived by his mother Lydia Welsh and his sister and best friend Wilma. He was predeceased by his father Austin (1984) and four of his five siblings – Audrey (1941), Elizabeth Ann (1952), Dianne Frank (2003) and Weldon (2008). He also leaves his nephew Tim (Kim) Frank of Kitchener and great niece Cassandra. He is also survived by his exwife Britta who has remained a special friend, and good friend Paul Bruder. He leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be sadly missed by Sam, Princess, Snoopy (aka Stinky), Sally and Joey. Sterling's active life was cut short in his mid 20's by a serious car accident in 1967 that affected him for the rest of his life. He was an employee in the Research Lab at Fiberglass (Corning) of Canada. Despite his health problems he lived a full life. We are grateful for the care he received in the CCU of the Guelph General Hospital and especially the care given at his bedside by his Joanne, and special nieces Carole Ann Hattle and Susan Roszel. There will be a celebration of his life on Thursday, November 18th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Knox Presbyterian Church, 20 Quebec Street, Guelph. There will be a time of visitation from 10:00 a.m. Cremation and inurnment at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sam Travis-Miller Fund, c/o Women's Missionary Society, 50 Wynford Drive, Toronto, M3C 1J7, for the children of the Jobat area in Central India, or to Knox Presbyterian Church, 20 Quebec Street, Guelph.
