I first met Alba and René Machado in the winter of 1979 in NYC. Their son René was a friend, who I had met in the summer of 1976 when we were singing in the choir at St. Thomas’s Church on Fifth Avenue. They were visiting the city and I invited them to see the King Tutankhamen exhibition at the Met where I was working. She and her husband were, and in my many memories of them, the loveliest, kindest people, traits which they passed to their son. May she be sharing wherever she is now with her partner in life. My memories of them are some of my most cherished. Bless you Alba, and bless you René for having been a part of my life. Endless love. David
