Alene Morton, 86, passed away at home in North Chicago on September 15, 2010. She was born April 21, 1924 in Letcher Cty, KY to John and Luada Salyers. Alene is survived by her daughter, Requia Blackburn; grandchildren, Howard (Nelida) Miller, Michelle Miller, Arnold Jewell, Flecia Potter and Loretta (Steven) Moore; great-grandchildren, Jon Miller, T.J. Larsen, Tawney Larsen, Samantha Miller, Latisha Potter, Emily Potter, Steven Moore and Destiny Moore; and a brother, Harlen Salyers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jonah Morton; son, Tommy Morton and son-in-law, Joe Blackburn. Visitation will be held Friday, September 17, 2010 from 5 to 8pm and Saturday, from 9 to 10am with funeral service at 10am at Marsh Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Northshore Garden of Memories.
