Allan R Smith

Allan R. Smith, 85, of Park City, Illinois passed away December 4, 2011 (gone home for the holidays). He was born September 7, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Allan belonged to Gurnee Community Church where he was a former co-director of the youth group G.C.T. Al was self-employed contractor building many homes in Lake County. He was a very inspiring, patient, and supportive man who volunteered his knowledge, skills, and craftsmanship constantly. He will be missed by all who shared his life. He is survived by his daughters Linda(Glen) Ames, and Ellen(Wayne) Hansen; special grandfather to Kelly(Frankie) Ruiz, Shawn(Michelle) Hansen, Krystal Ames, Melissa(Dave) Stein, and 5 great grandchildren, loving family in CA; nieces and nephews, cousins, sister-in-law and brother-in-law and a host of close family and friends. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years LaVerne Smith, his parents Walter and Pearl, sister Delores Fiene, and beloved in-laws. There will be a visitation Saturday, December 10, 2011 from9-11am followed by a service to celebrate his life at 11am at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee.
