Anthony W. Grassa

Anthony “Tony” William Grassa, age 67, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2023 surrounded by his family. Tony was a beloved husband, father and brother. He is survived by his loving wife Sophia Petropoulos Grassa and his sons Sam (Brittney) and Michael Grassa, and his sister, Nancy Grassa (Randy) Rogers. Tony was preceded in death by his father and mother Sam and Delma Grassa.

A “Celebration of Life” in memory of Tony will be held at Marsh Funeral Home in Gurnee, IL on September 15th, from 3pm to 7pm. Prayer service will be at 4 pm. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and pay their respects to a man who left a lasting impact on those around him.

Tony will be remembered for his commitment to his family and putting their needs above his own. His warm presence, infectious laugh and genuine smile brought joy to the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Tony’s memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to have shared in his life.

Tony was a special individual known for his unwavering dedication as a loving husband, caring father, and devoted brother. He displayed passion for various pursuits including hitting the links, expertise as a “grill master”, enjoying Sunday family suppers, and showing kindness to his neighbors. He was a huge Chicago sports fan, particularly the Cubs, Bears and Bulls. He would always enjoy his time on the back patio with family and friends exchanging stories and just enjoying the good times. Tony’s demeanor was always so optimistic on everything and could turn any situation into a positive vibe.

The family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of their choice in memory of Tony. May his soul be forever eternal and may his memory serve as a source of comfort and inspiration to all who loved him.
