Tony’s life was devoted to his family. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him, and nothing made him happier than spending time with them. He loved supporting their interests and activities, especially the sporting events! He was an avid bowler and spent many years on a weekly bowling league with his brother Phil and son-in-law Tom. He was a diehard Chicago sports fan (not the Sox!) and on any given Sunday during football season, you could find him on the couch yelling at the Bears! Outside of his sporting interests, Tony loved to travel. He and his wife Carol traveled all over the United States, from tours of New England to cruises in Alaska! Tony also served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1958-1960. During this time, he was stationed in his ancestral homeland of Germany.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years Carol; his beloved daughter Susan Suchsland; his dear son-in-law Thomas Suchsland; his parents Jacob and Elizabeth Ringelstein; and his siblings John, Janet, Mary Ann, Phil, Bob, and Rich.
He is survived by his children Nancy (Eric) Podowski, Judy (Rich) Bergman, and Tony Jr. (Hailey). He was a devoted grandfather to Kyle, Justin (Emily), Ryan (Breena), Shawn, Rachel, Connor, Noelle, Brady, and Layla Sue. He was thrilled to be expecting his first great-grandchild in the summer!
