He worked for Citadel Manufacturing as a machine operator. He was also certified in cabinetry, masonry and fork lift driver. He loved kids, animals, nature and bike riding. He also loved cars, and sports and was an avid Bears, Blackhawks and White Sox fan.
He is survived by his wife Lauren Ester; his children, Andrew Ester, Haley Braim and Nathaniel Ester; his grandson Andrew Ester Jr.; his mother, Angela Smith; father, Dale Ester; his brothers, Daniel Ester, David Ester; and sister, Desiree Peterson; his grandmothers, Patricia Williams and Marion Ester; his aunts Tammie (Ernie) Barrera, Kimm Kleinmark (Jim); uncle William Dickes and aunt Renee Boling; cousins Amy (Diana) DeLeon, JD Kleinmark, Melody Dickes (Nick) and Megan Dickes (Curtis), Arik (Elizabeth) Barrera and Billy Moody; second cousins Ethan, Brooklyn, Bailey, Layla and Lexi, Mateo and Madison.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather Michael F. Smith; cousin Aaron Barrera and grandfathers William F. Dickes and Alvin L. Ester.
A visitation for Dale will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031, with a memorial service at 5:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter, Riverwoods, Illinois.
