Dee Laine Sellke

Surrounded by her family, Dee Laine Sellke of Gurnee passed from this world on January 30, 2015. Beloved wife of Terry, caring mother to Kirk Sellke (Karen) of Bloomfield Hills, MI and Kristin Koepke (Alan) of Wauwatosa, WI, adoring Grandma Dee Dee to Grace, Maddie & Clyde Sellke; she was born April 29, 1962 to the late Esther & Don Sturm of Wonder Lake.

With a quick wit, infectious smile, and contagious laugh, Dee never met a person she didn’t befriend. Her keen eye for detail and savvy nature enabled her to be a woman of many talents and wearer of many hats - From dental hygienist, to real estate developer, to The Bottom Line, she never met a project she wouldn’t tackle. Travel was always on the agenda whether for business or pleasure and during 27 years of marriage, with her husband and best friend always at her side, Dee visited 6 of the 7 continents, enjoyed countless trips with family and friends, and always returned with an adventure to share.

A long-time resident of Libertyville and most recently, Gurnee, Dee could often be found golfing on a beautiful summer day or enjoying the sun from a pool floatie with her treasured dog, Sammie nearby - and perhaps even the grandkids splashing around her! She cherished her family above all else, and was quick to host a pool party, family reunion or holiday simply so everyone could be together.

Dee is survived by her 8 siblings and their families: Deborah (Richard) Draper, Donald (Jayne) Sturm, David (Georgette) Sturm, Delora (Steve) Gerhardt, Diane (Joe) Shoemaker, Doreen (Richard) Berndt, Dawn (Scott) Steinbach, Dina (Steve) Dermont; and The Sellke Clan.
