Dear Ed,
I remember waaaay back in the 90's when I started dating Steve, we went to your house for a barbeque and you lined the grill with aluminum foil.I thought it was wierd that you were frying the hamburgers and I asked if I could get my hot dog with "lines" on it. Luckily you didn't get offended, I don't think I left a good impression, though. Being the nice man that you were, I think you laughed and took off the foil. It was an honor to be your daughter in law and I was always happy to see your smiling face. You were a wonderful grandpa to Autumn, Charlie and all of the foster kids that we had.
 Autumn still laughs when she remembers the funny things that you would do. There are some people who you feel just aren't "supposed" to die,I think because we're not ready to say good-bye, and you were one of them. I'll really miss you Ed (Grandpa), things just don't seem right without you. Love Gale.

Jackie, 
I know that Merilyn wrote before me, but I feel that I should write personally. Ed was a wonderful person as long as we knew him. The only thing he did wrong for the guys, is that he did everything that you wanted him to do. As long as he got to play golf, bingo, and go gambling once in a while. 
I spent some time alone with Ed in Kelly's extra sitting room, on the first floor. This was at Leo's suprise birthday party. He was very tired but would not lie down. He didn't want alarm you or the rest of the family. He told me he was very happy he had such a great family. He was a role model for me, and others like me,In that he was alway soft spoken about you
and the plans you made... He made me, and others, jealous that  we were not as easy going as him.
I will always remember him with fond memories,and knowing how great he was.

Faults =  Packer Fan, and he wouldn't give golf, or bowlin to go on gambling trips, and He Died Too Young.

All in All, Great Guy, Great Father,and Great Husband, and Great Friend.... I will ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM AS SUCH.....

Dear Jackie,
We are so very sorry about Ed passing. He was the nicest guy anyone could have ever known.  I always told Jackie she was the luckiest person to have Ed.  In all the 54 years that we knew Ed, he never ever got angry about anything and would go anywhere we all wanted to go.  When I would call Jackie, she would say to Ed, do you want to talk to your girlfriend?  We would talk about the Packers, even though we were all Bears fans.  He was a Cub fan as I am since 1951.  He will hopefully see a World Series in Heaven.  

I met Ed in 1956 when Jackie and I were in night school at Wright Junior College and we did a lot of double dating together.  We went roller skating which Ed was a whiz at, picnics at Cedar Lake, gambling trips all over the Midwest on the bus with the gang.  Lots of dinners, card games at each others houses till early 
morning.  We are the best of friends.

We know he is resting peacefully in Heaven.  We will miss him so very much and we will always be there for you Jackie.  You were truly blessed to have such a good husband and father

Dear Jackie,
I am so sorry about Ed's passing. He was a very special person that will always have a place in my heart. You were so blessed to have him for all those years.

 I only new him for 11 of those years and he was a special man who always had  huge smile on his face and good strong hug for all his good friends and there were very many. He will be truly missed.

Dear Dad,
I know you are resting peacefully now in heaven with our Lord Jesus and with all of your friends and family that have passed before you.
I miss you so much. I'm sad that I will have to live the rest of my life without you. You were always there for Leo and I to help us out whenever we needed it. I will never forget all the traveling we did together in those crazy campers! But boy we did have fun! I will especially miss your big hug everytime I visited you.
Thank you for being such a wonderful Father and Grandpa. Danielle, Chase and Gabby thought the world of you. You always treated Leo like a son. You were the Father he never had and he loved you for it.
We will always be there for Mom if she needs anything.
If there is Gambling in heaven please play my favorite game, Babushka for me! And if there are pets in heaven please give Penny a hug for me too.

Dear Ed....Dad
Forever will you hold that special place in my heart as Dad, the "Father Figure" that was missing from my life. You welcomed me in without a hesitation, ever caring and supportive, from the first time I met you in your "Monk Robe" with those broken feet, until we said goodbye in that hospital in Chicago. What a great role model you were, the ever loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. I am lucky to have known you.
A loving father to Kelly. Always there for her. You were the man she could always depend on.
Grandpa Ed, what a special man you were to my kids...I am forever greatful to you for that.
Half of a dynamic duo, Jackie and Ed, you will be missed.
It was awesome that we could travel together...we had some great fun on those trips! 
I will try to do as good a job as you have done, but those are some mighty big shoes to fill.
There is no doubt you will be watching over the family from Heaven, it is a job I know you can not leave behind. 
I hope the golf is better in Heaven.
Keep rolling those Strikes..we will listen for the Thunder.

Dearest Jackie and Family:
 It is so hard to find the right words to comfort someone but know that we are just a few blocks away or a phone call away, and we care. Ed was a great guy and Howard will miss their golfing on Wednesday but he is happy to have those memories. God gave Ed to you to love for 52 years but he saw that his earthly fight was a difficult one and he called him home to be with him. He was the guy who we had fun with, including teasing him about being a Packers fan and who I shared a birthday with. All fond memories. He will be missed but we are happy to have spent some fun times together with you and Ed on our earthly home. Thank you for picking him to be your hubby!!!! Love, Arlene and Howard Murray

Dear Dad,
 This is the 3rd time I have tried to put a entry in your guest book hopefully ''3 times a charm''
 Well as you know you will be missed so very much by me and all your family and friends. You left us too soon but made a big difference in all of us, watch over us especially MOM we will take care of her so don't worry.You did a a great job the 52 years together, now at 73 it is time for you to rest.
  One thing I wish we could have done one more time (but you got sick) was to go golfing even though we were not great golfers we still had a good time.
 I believe I inherited your trait when the ball is within 5 to 10 feet of the green why chip it up when you can putt it to the pin. Hopefully when in heaven you'll try to chip more or not, whatever you are doing now I won't forget all the good times we had with our family and friends and you will always be in our thoughts and prayers at every holiday and special events.

DEAR DAD,
 If you can read this from heaven, which I hope you can I just wanted to say how much you are already missed. You were and always will be the Heart of our family.
    I will make sure we will stay strong as a family and be there for each other thru good times and bad and you will always be remembered in special events and holidays.
    You left this world too soon but still you made a difference in so many lives you touched and your family and friends will never forget you . We had a lot of good memories vacationing, holidays,special events and golfing. That is one thing I wanted to do with you this year was to golf with you(but you were too sick) even though we were not great golfers we always had a good time. I have your trait when the golf ball is within 5 to 10 feet of the green why try to chip it when you can putt it, I hope that works up in heaven but maybe you'll try too chip the ball up to the pin. 
    One last thing I know you will be watching over us especially MOM but don't worry I will make sure she is taken care of If family or friends aren't helping her or looking out for her I will forever be there for her, we all counted on you to take care of MOM, which you did a fantastic job for the past 52 years but now you are resting for all the hard work you have done in your 73 years here.

To my dear husband:
I am writing this just 2 days after you left me, and your family. I have done nothing but think of you and our life together. We had a wonderful life and had a wonderful family,and 7 grandchildren who love us so much.  What more could two people want?  We also have the best friends.  You have been such terrific person to everyone you met, and the most wonderful husband.  We had our ups and downs, like everyone else, but we had more ups than downs.  Tomorrow family and friends will be visiting you and also letting us know how important you have been in their lives also. On Monday 8/30 we will be celebrating a burial Mass for you, and then to the place where you will be "planted" (as you always reminded me of).
Even though you will not be with me I will never stop thinking of and remembering our life together.  52 years of happiness, which is more than most people get.  God has been good to us.  Please don't forget me, as I will never forget you.  Look down on our family and me also.  You have been my first love and I thank the Lord for sending you to me.

Dear Uncle Ed,
I remember the time that you chased us around as kids down in the basement of the home you and Aunt Jackie lived in, in Waukegan.  The lights were turned out, and it may have been a stormy night.  Aunt Jackie was on the phone, paying no mind, as we pretended to play hide and seek in what appeared to me, to be a haunted house!  It was a great time.  We love you and miss you.
