Evelyn A. Rude, Waukegan resident for eight decades, Evie passed away peacefully, at 84, on June 30 a day after a sudden heart issue. So blessed, she hadn't been a hospital patient in 58 1/2 years, since she gave birth in the same facility to her only child, who was holding her hand as she departed. An Abbott Laboratories employee for almost 35 years, she instilled strong right-wrong values and enjoyed talking to people-friends and strangers alike-in restaurants, stores, anywhere, anytime. Everyone marveled at her remarkably immaculate home, her sense of order and the fact she navigated life without a checkbook. The Waukegan Township High School graduate loved Christianity, country music, tasty buffets, cracking a joke, finding deals at rummage sales and making an occasional trip to Chicago or Milwaukee. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Rude; grandson, Scott Rude; and brothers, Sam and Martin Badegian. She is preceded in death by husband, Irwin Rude; parents, Louis and Araxy Badegian and twin sister Helen Badegian. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. July 9 at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 North Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. On July 10th an 11 a.m. funeral service will follow 10-11 a.m. visitation at St. Paul's Lutheran Church (where she was a longtime member), 824 N. Lewis Ave., Waukegan. Burial will be at Northshore Garden of Memories, 18th St. and Green Bay Rd., North Chicago.
