

Felix Philip Sedar, Born in Waukegan, Illinois on June 19, 1927 - Died June 6, 2012. Philip Sedar, a long-time member of the community, died on Wednesday evening; he was 84 years old. Phillip was a retired fireman for the city of Waukegan and a navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix Sedar and Eva Klem; wife, Ann Dunski; brothers, Lawrence and Richard (Mickey), and sisters, Eva and Mary Ann. He is survived by his children, Phyllis, Stephen, Barbara, and Edward (Marsha); grandchildren, Alexandria and Jessica; and many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by his family as a loving father with a strong will and spirit, who shared his passion, courage and strength with the people and things that he loved. Phil enjoyed music (Dean Martin and Perry Como were among his favorite singers) and had a beautiful voice himself; he loved singing in the Christmas choir at his home at Barton Senior Residence. He also loved to entertain people with his story-telling and jokes. Being an avid reader, he could not pass up a good western or detective novel. He was the biggest fan of his children as well as a devoted fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers and Chicago White Sox. His love for animals brought him many wonderful golden retrievers as loyal companions throughout his years. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents at Barton Senior Residence and to the staff at Rolling Hills Manor for the loving care and kindness they extended to their father and to them as well. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 8:30 to 10:30am at Marsh Funeral Home with a funeral mass at 11am at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6401 Gages Lake Rd. Gurnee, IL. Interment at Ascension Cemetery.
