Judith Marie Gesky

Judith M. Gesky, age 66, of Waukegan passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Advocate Aurora Condell Medical Center with her daughters by her side. Judith was born on November 21, 1956 in Waukegan, IL to Donald and Nancy (Johnson) Spaulding. She attended local schools and graduated from Waukegan High School in 1974. Judith married Wayne Gesky in Waukegan in 1981 and the couple had two daughters. She later found the love of her life, Frank Hodur and they had 22 wonderful years together. Judith worked for the IL Dept. of Employment Security for 37 years until her retirement in 2009. She enjoyed balina and will always be a lifelong Cubs fan. In recent years her time was spent spoiling her grandkids “rotten”, which brought her great enjoyment.

She was preceded in death by, her parents; granddaughter, Jacelynne Marie; her love, Frank Hodur; her brother-in-law, Fred King; sister-in-law, Marilyn Ratliff and her grandpup, Furball.

Judith is survived by, two daughters, Kristy (Terry Jr.) O’Neal and Jaime Gesky; four grandchildren, Lamont (Bieyonsai), Kaden, Jordan and Alexis; three great grandchildren, Shawn, Bailey and Lamont III; two sisters, Donna (Ken) Michalowski and Deborah King; two brothers, Don Spaulding and David (Jenny) Spaulding; sister-in-law, Patricia Hodur; her best friend, Deb Davis; an honorary niece, Sara Parsons as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Judith will take place on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at the Marsh Funeral Home (305 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL 60031) from 4-7:00pm and on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at the funeral home from 11am until the time of service. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 12:00pm Noon with interment to immediately follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery (1920 W. Buckley Road, Libertyville, IL 60048).
