Lisa A Justin

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 1st from 11:30 until 3:00 PM at the Zion-Benton Moose Lodge, 41517 N Sheridan Road in Zion

Lisa was born on August 25, 1958, to George and Susan (Lerche) Sandahl, in Waukegan, Illinois. She attended St. Anastasia Catholic School. She graduated from Waukegan East High School and after graduation, she attended cosmetology school.

Her career took her in a number of interesting places, first working in respiratory therapy at Advocate Condell Medical Center through the 80’s and 90’s, and later opening and running her own flower shop, Magnolia’s, in the early 2000’s. All the while, she spent her time working as a hairdresser and later as a wake attendant, with Marsh Funeral Home in Waukegan and Gurnee.

Lisa was a member of Zion-Benton Moose Lodge 667, where she would also donate her time withing various aspects of the organization. In her spare time, she could often be found gardening, and she enjoyed cooking and being in the kitchen.

She was a hardworking woman who was always very close with her children and grandchildren; she would do anything for them. Everyone knew she was the one to reach out to if you needed help or recommendations as she always had a connection to share.

Her love and care will live on through all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

She is survived by her children and step-children, Ryan (Lauren A.) Justin, Lauren E. Justin, Tommy (Rachel) Engel, Timmy (Leah Werner) Engel, and Tyler Engel; grandchildren and step-grandchildren Ryan J. Woods, Logan and Parker Justin, and Eleanor and Lilah Engel; siblings Paula Sandahl, Erica Landry, David (Leslie) Sandahl, and Jennifer (Lorli) Schingeck; and many other dear relatives and friends.

She was preceded by her father George Sandahl, brother George Sandahl Jr, and fiancé Tom Engel.
