Loren A. Hawk, 46, walked through Heaven's gates into the arms of his "Da-Dah" on September 15, 2011. He was born mentally handicapped on May 25, 1965 to Gilbert F. Hawk and Barbara B. Hawk. Both his and his mother's blood were used in research to develop the current RhoGAM shot. At age 7, Loren was placed in a state facility located in Dixon, IL. Loren was then admitted as one of the first patients to Ann M. Kiley Center located in Waukegan, IL. He continued to live there until he was transferred to Hospice Alliance in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Loren is survived by his mother, Barbara (Burnheimer) Hawk, (Horst Siebrandt); his sister, Lois (Hawk) Hamann; and one niece, Carolyn Hamann. Loren is preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Hawk. His visitation will take place on Friday, September 23, 2011 from 3-8pm at Marsh Funeral Home in Gurnee, IL.
