

Philip L. Coan, 79, formerly of Deerfield, resident of Gurnee, passed away April 2, 2011. He was born July 30, 1931 in Bloomington, Indiana. Philip was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield. He belonged to the Deerfield American Legion, and was a Past Master of D.C. Cregier #81 Masonic Lodge of Wheeling, IL and member of the Medinah Shrine Temple of Chicago. Philip was a U.S. Navy Korean War Veteran and retired from the U. S. Postal Service in Deerfield. He is survived by his wife Mary-Lee Coan; children: Thomas (Karen) McClure, Peter (Kristi) Coan, Jeffrey (Debbie) McClure, Jennifer Bingham, Julia Davis, William (Lori) McClure and Philip Lee (Margie) Coan Jr., 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is preceeded in death by 3 sisters and a brother.
A visitation will take place from 1:00 – 3:00pm on Saturday, April 16th, 2011, at Marsh Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow. Burial will be private.
