February 12, 1939 - June 12, 2023
Blanche Weinberg of Edison, New Jersey passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023 at the age of 84. She was surrounded by her loved ones: her husband Joe, son Larry, grandchildren Eden and Ethan and the memory of her late son Richard. Blanche and Joe were married for 63 years and on their honeymoon in Puerto Rico their circle grew profoundly when they met the Daitchs, Horowitzs and Fleischers, who would become a lifelong family of their own, referred to by those who knew them as “The Honeymoon Couples”. Blanche was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 12, 1939 to Louis and Rebecca Weiss. She was predeceased by her brother Gilbert. She graduated from James Madison High School and attended Boston University and graduated from Hofstra University with a BA degree in education. After teaching for a few years in the New York City public school system and after giving birth to her two sons the family moved to Miami Florida where she began a 32 year career in Jewish communal services. Following her husbands career moves Blanche was able to continue her social services work in communities in Kansas, New Jersey and New York. While diminutive in size her voice and presence were anything but that. Blanche filled a room with her passionate thoughts, experiences and words of wisdom. With her husband and family. Blanche traveled the world and visited countries on all continents. Her love of the arts, game playing and reading, she was a woman of class and refinement. Blanche loved nothing more than to be with her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.
