Our beloved mom, grandma, sister, friend and colleague, Daylle Deanna Schwartz, of NY, NY, has passed away from a brain tumor on October 31, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 2 at 11:00AM at New Montefiore Cemetary in West Babylon, Long Island, NY. Shiva will be held at her daughter Tami’s house at 16 Channing Drive, Ringwood, NJ on Nov. 3 & 4 (Mon & Tues) between the hours of 10:00AM – 2:00PM and 6:00PM – 9:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, and to honor Daylle’s spirit and memory, her family has requested that donations be made to the New York Women in Communications Foundation (NYWICI), a 501c3, in support of the Member Empowerment Grant (MEG) Program. Donations of any amount will be appreciated and can be donated securely online at www.nywici.org or mailed to the New York Women in Communications Foundation at 355 Lexington Avenue, 15th Floor, NY, NY 10017. All donations are tax-deductible.
Daylle was a dedicated member of NYWICI for many years, and received her own MEG grant in support of her personal career re-invention in 2013. The grant supported her ability to develop and promote her “The Self-Love Movement” and take it to a worldwide audience. Daylle’s personal journey to self-love opened up doors to a joyous life spent with friends, colleagues, her beloved daughter Tami and two grandsons (her pride and joy!) Bryce & Devin. This joy fueled her desire to give the gift of her writing to the world in the full-length book entitled “How Do I Love Me? Let Me Count the Ways,” which she gave away for free.
Throughout her unique professional life, Daylle successfully constructed a dual career as an author, speaker and counselor for both personal self-empowerment and the music business. The expertise gained from being one of the first women to start an independent record label helped her become one of the leading music business educators. Earning respect in the music industry taught Daylle how to speak up and get taken seriously in a nice, soft-spoken way that got results.
Daylle’s impressive list of books include:
1. The Real Deal – How to Get Signed to a Record Label
2. Start & Run Your Own Record Label
3. I don’t Need a Record Deal: Your Survival Guide for the Indie Music Revolution
4. The Musician’s Guide to Licensing Music (wrote with Darren Wilsey)
5. All Men Are Jerks (Until Proven Otherwise)
6. How to Please a Woman In and Out of Bed
7. Nice Girls Can Finish First
8. Effortless Entrepreneur (wrote for College Hunks Hauling Junk)
9. Tapping for Wealth (wrote with Margaret Lynch)
10. Retrain Your Anxious Brain (wrote with John Tsilimparis)
Despite her diagnosis and rapid decline in health, Daylle remained positive and peaceful until the very end of her life, focusing on being the embodiment of the self-love she taught to so many others. Daylle inspired thousands of people around the world, and she leaves a wonderful legacy of self-empowerment and love.
Daylle Deanna Schwartz will be sincerely missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and those who supported what she stood for. Whether you were connected by the music industry, writing community, as a self-love supporter, Facebook friend, neighbor, etc, please help continue promoting the ideals that Daylle based her life around, and tirelessly advocated for throughout her life. Never give up on your dreams! As Daylle was so fond of saying,
“When you know what you want and get the tools to achieve it, dreams can come
