

Known to many as Grandma Dotty, she was born on Oct. 12, 1926, in Brooklyn, where she spent most of her childhood. She was the fifth child of Jacob and Ann Brounstein. In 1950, she married her late husband Morty, the love of her life, and later had two children, Caryn and Michael. She moved to New Jersey in 1968, where she spent the rest of her life.
She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and her knack for finding great deals and bestowing loving nicknames on her grandchildren. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be missed.
Dorothy is survived by her two children, Michael (Joanne) and Caryn (Stuart), five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morton, the love of her life; parents Jacob and Ann, and siblings Harry (Manya), Moe, Sylvia (Abraham) and Ruth (Irving).
A service to honor Dorothy’s life will be held on Sunday at 11 a.m. at Cedar Park in Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice in her memory.
