Irma was born May 4, 1933, the daughter of Sylvia (Kershenowitz) and Aaron Holzman, in Orange, N.J. She was married for 72 years to Lewis Azaroff. They had a son, Geoffrey (Gail), and two daughters, Leslie and Sheryl, four grandchildren, Beth, Valerie, Rachel and Scott, and three great-grandsons, Jordan, Jet and Joshua. Irma graduated from Orange High School in 1951, attended New Jersey College for Women and William Paterson College. She was voted Most Talkative Girl at Orange High. She had a rewarding 30-year career as a medical assistant. Irma was a terrific hostess for her many visitors. She exuded love for her family, warmth and charm. Irma was an excellent cook and housewife. Irma and Lew spent the first year of their marriage in Salzburg, Austria, where Lew was stationed by the U.S. Army. On their return they lived in Hackensack for six years and moved into Teaneck in 1961.
