

Formerly of Fort Lee, NJ, last residing in Sussex County, NJ, John was born in Paris, France on December 17, 1927. He came to the United States when he was 19. Having survived World War 2, he loved the freedom and safety of the United States, but held dear to his heart the culture of his beloved France .
He was predeceased by his parents Renee and Andre, and his brother Robert. John is also predeceased by his first wife, Josephine, and his second wife, Isabel and her daughter Marcy.
John enjoyed 33 happy years with his dear companion, Harriet Greene. They dined in fine restaurants, sailed many cruises, and spent time with Harriet’s daughters Elaine and Debra and their families.
John was proud of his profession in the photoengraving business, first with Globe Photoengraving, and later with Progressive Graphics. He retired in 1993. He also had his own printing business making party and wedding favors. He continued his creative endeavors through oil painting, photography, and making personalized greeting cards on the computer.
John was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was part of a reconnaissance and tank division during the Korean War.
In his younger days, John was an avid fisherman and loved boating and being on the water.
He is survived by his daughter, Claudia Camarro, and husband Paul; daughter, Nina Renee; beloved grandchildren, Michelle Flett and husband Jerry, Lisa Spooner and wife Jeanette; David Fleishman and wife Rebecah, and Jennifer Nelson and husband Matthew. He enjoyed his great grandchildren, Caleb, Harper and Grayson; Jesse, Jace, and Lucie, Charlotte and Ivy, and Lola.
Funeral arrangements are February 26, 12:30 at Gutterman and Musicant in Hackensack, NJ.
