Mark D., 57, of Hackensack, New Jersey passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2014. Mark was born October 17,1956 in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina to Paula (DeHaan) Falk and the late Clifford Falk. He is also survived by his loving sister Lynne Frasche. Mark was a gifted pianist and loved playing the piano. He also was an avid reader and a collector of antiques. Mark graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern University and was immediately hired by the Dept. of labor and served them for 35 plus years. Mark Falk devoted his life to public service and served his entire 35+ years of federal service at the U.S. Department of Labor. He held many positions throughout his career. He served in his latest position for the past six years as Regional Administrator for the Boston and New York Region. In addition, to his regular duties, managing one of the Department of Labor's most populous regions, Mark will be remembered for his outstanding efforts helping the Department recover from Hurricane Sandy and in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings. Mark was always exceedingly professional and it was in Mark's nature to do whatever was needed to get a job done. His willingness to tackle anything was ground in the confidence he had in his staff. He was proud of his employees, the worked they performed and the service they provided. He was a kind person that treated everyone fairly and decently regardless of the situation or status. His colleagues and staff always respected the way he handled tough issues. He is leaving a legacy that will be hard to match.
