Martin Berman of Ramsey, NJ age 82, passed away on Saturday September 7, 2013 surrounded by his loving children and loving sister Judy. Korean war veteran in the camera corp, involved in great early television of the 1960s, his favorite work was as the Assistant Director on the Defenders television series. Later work involved television commercials (“the Big Fig Newton”, “I can’t Believe I ate the whole thing”, “The Maytag Repairman”), TV series and feature films. Marty was a talented woodworker, avid music lover, lifelong NY Yankees fan and perpetual college student. Deeply loved by his son Robert and his wife Sherri, daughter Dianne and her husband Joseph and daughter Lauren and her husband Richard. He adored his grandchildren Bryce, Mollie, Paige, Danae and Zak. He loved his devoted dog Babbas. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, The American Liver Foundation or RBARI. Service at Gutterman and Musicant , Hackensack on Monday September 9th at 11:00am. Burial at Beth El Cemetery on Forest Avenue in Paramus
