Milton “Milt” Diamond, 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Florida surrounded by his adoring family on March 2nd, 2026. His passing followed a brief but valiant battle with gastric cancer discovered just prior to his 90th birthday in January.
Formerly of Oradell, New Jersey, Milton most recently lived in Boynton Beach, Florida and Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Milton was the middle child of Thelma (z”l) and Alex Diamond (z”l) and the beloved brother of Erwin Diamond (z”l) and Claire Rubenstein.
Milton graduated from high school at the young age of 16 and continued his education at Brooklyn College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in organic chemistry. He proudly served in the United States Military as a member of the Army Chemical Corps. Following his honorable discharge in 1962, Milton built a successful sales and marketing career in the laboratory products field. He later earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Baruch College in New York City and went on to hold several prominent executive positions within the laboratory products industry.
In 1983, Milton founded Globe Scientific Inc. in the basement of his home in Oradell, New Jersey together with his beloved wife Beverly by his side, every step of the way. His vision, determination, and deep desire to provide a good life for his young family propelled him forward, even through challenging times. Milton and Beverly’s daughters, Lisa and Dara, later joined them at the company, making it a true family business in every sense of the word.
From its humble beginnings, Globe grew to become one of the largest privately held laboratory supply companies in the United States. A kind, quiet man of extraordinary brilliance and integrity, Milt earned the respect and admiration of all who knew him. His warmth, sincerity and big smile made everyone around him feel welcome. Employees, colleagues, and overseas partners alike became his extended family. In 2022, the Diamond family sold a majority interest in the company to a private equity firm; however, the Globe name and Diamond-branded product lines remain synonymous with quality and excellence as the company continues to expand.
A true legend in the laboratory products industry, Milton’s professional life was defined by hard work, entrepreneurship, loyalty, trust, and respect — values that led to his enduring success.
Above all, Milton’s proudest and most cherished accomplishment was the family he created and loved with all his heart. He is survived by his treasured wife of 58 years, Beverly; his devoted daughters Lisa Diamond Berger and Dara Diamond, his loving son-in-Law David Berger, his adoring daughter-in-law Christine Diamond; and his precious grandchildren, Noah Berger, Addison Berger, Ava Diamond, and Alexander Diamond.
Milt met Beverly, the love of his life, on a blind date orchestrated by members of their families and was immediately smitten when she greeted him with a glass of cherry herring upon his arrival; they married in 1967. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising their daughters in a home filled with Jewish traditions, strong values, fun, laughter and love. Their 58-year marriage was a true partnership in every sense of the word, and their lives were filled with love, laughter, travel, adventure, hard work, and unwavering devotion.
An incredible father to the luckiest daughters, Milt loved his girls with all his heart and soul. He was the kind of father most people can only dream of having: patient, kind, supportive, strong, protective, endlessly proud and always generous with his time, advice, love and warm hugs. An amazing listener, he was always so excited to hear what was going on in their lives. During their father’s recent illness, Lisa and Dara were his greatest champions and never left his side; they fought this final battle together as a family and will cherish these moments for the rest of their lives.
Milton held many titles during his lifetime, but his most prestigious title was not President, CEO, or Chairman of the Board — it was “Pakie,” the name given to him by his first precious grandchild, Noah, when he couldn’t pronounce the word “grandpa.” And “Pakie” is who Milton will forever be to his four most precious and priceless treasures — Noah, Addie, Ava, and Alex — the “Four Musketeers” who idolized and adored their grandfather beyond measure and will miss him every day.
Milton’s legacy lives on in the company he built, the charitable organizations he supported, the countless people whose lives he touched, and most importantly, in the family who adored him and were so blessed to call him their own. He will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever loved.
For those who feel moved to do so and in lieu of flowers, donations in Milton’s memory would be deeply meaningful; some of his favorite charitable organizations include American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA), Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF), and Valley Chabad, among many others…
A 12:30 PM chapel service will be held on Thursday, March 5th, 2026, at Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, 402 Park Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601.
Interment will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ 07652.
