Rita Blum Childs died Wednesday Jan. 21,2015 in her Son’s home with her family by her side . She was 86. Rita was born March 22,1928 in kings County Brooklyn ,NY to Arthur and Leah Blum. She lived most of her life in North Bergen New Jersey, studied at NYU and worked in the garment center as a sportswear buyer for over 50 years. She spent her life devoted to her Mom and Dad, her husband, her two sons , her sister, family and friends . She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey and survived by her two sons Arthur Childs of Seaville NJ and Alan Childs of Whitehouse Station, NJ : Sister Helaine Weissman, ;daughters in law Julianne and Lauren ; Grandchildren Joshua , Hannah, Sarah, Emily, Aimee, Brittney, Jacob and Lea. Her favorite saying was “Live, Love, Laugh” and she lived by those words every day of her life. She will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be at Gutterman & Musicant Friday Jan 23 at 12 noon in Hackensack ,NJ with Rabbi David Weis officiating, interment at Riverside Cemetery.
