Walter M. Spiegel, a resident of Jersey City, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2013 at the age of 93. Born in the Bronx, Walter was a graduate of the City College of New York and became a successful entrepreneur and early innovator in the promotional products industry. He founded Waldor Products in Jersey City in 1946 with his first wife, Dorothy (nee Silverman) Spiegel, who predeceased him in 1971. Waldor continues to operate under the leadership of Walter’s son, Stephen. In addition to Stephen, Walter is survived by a daughter, Marcy Getz, of Mount Gretna, PA, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Walter was predeceased by his second wife, Dorothy (nee Ryan) Spiegel, in 1999 and by brothers Elwyn Spiegel and Milton Nemett. A burial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 16, at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Fairview, New Jersey.
