Passed away peacefully at Northwood Manor Halifax. Barrie leaves behind his beloved wife Mary Bernadette A (Walsh); children Trevor (Amy) Halifax; Carole (Geoff)Blomidon; Bronwyn (Christyne)Dartmouth; grandchildren Hannah, Mary Amelia and Jack Louis. Barrie was predeceased by his father Reuben, mother Emily and his sister Joyce (McLean). Barrie was born in Manchester England and immigrated to Canada in 1947. He Graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science in 1959 and worked for the Federal Government as a meteorologist for 34 years. Barrie enjoyed golf and curling and was a member of the Brightwood Golf Club and the Dartmouth Curling Club. While he also enjoyed playing hockey and baseball, his passion was soccer, or as he would often say “football, real football” and cheered for Manchester City. Barrie was also keenly involved in the Scouting movement and served on the board of Dartmouth North District for over 10 years.
