Dad was born in Magoula, Tegea, Greece, to the late Dimitri and Xaido Botis. He immigrated to Canada in 1965, to join his fiancé, Lillian. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in family, faith, friendship and community. They spent 18 years working side by side at Lillian’s Tailor Shop.
Basile is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Lillian (Vaso) and his loving daughters, Heidi and Stella (Jamie). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Vasili James and Arianna. He will also be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his brother, Kosta.
Dad will be remembered for his warm personality, wonderful sense of humour and his ability to make those around him laugh. One of his greatest pleasures was sitting on his porch, chatting with everyone who walked by. He always had time for a conversation, a smile, or a joke.
Above all, Basile loved his family deeply. His presence, humour, stories and the many memories created over a lifetime will be treasured by those who knew and loved him.
