It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother, and friend, Araali Samson Ngabu Amuku-Buku who left us too soon at the age of 37.
Samson was born in Uganda and moved to Canada in 2008, where he made his home while always treasuring his Ugandan heritage. Despite the distance, he nurtured lifelong friendships with his former schoolmates back home and effortlessly built new friendships with everyone he met in Canada.
Samson was a dedicated worker for Halifax Metro Transit who took great pride in his work. He was deeply loved by his colleagues and everyone he met at work, for his infectious humor and warm spirit. His jovial nature made every encounter memorable — he was a comedian at heart, always cracking jokes and finding humor even in difficult situations.
A kind and selfless soul, Samson never hesitated to help those in need. He would go out of his way to lend a hand and “bends over backwards” for anyone who sought his support. He had a unique gift for connecting with children, who adored him even though he never had any of his own.
Samson was a loving son to his mother, Akiiki Valerie Kebirungi Amgbu, and is reunited in rest with his late father, Gabriel Amgbu and late sister Christine Mowo Komusinguzi. He leaves behind his devoted siblings: Peter Musinguzi Okpwo-Dima, Tito Mirembe Mia, Annette Kanyiginya Anzoa, Erina Kanywani, and Gloria Drucila Kakwerre. His nephews: Rubanga and Gerald. Nieces:Darla -Gabriela and Malaika. His Fiancee: Rhona Zalika Ndiwalungi.
Samson will forever be remembered for his humor, kindness, and the joy he brought into every room he entered. His love for Ugandan music and culture was a testament to his deep pride in his roots.
Though his time with us was brief, his impact will be felt for a lifetime. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the countless people whose lives he touched with his friendship, laughter, and unwavering generosity.
Rest in peace, dear Samson. You will never be forgotten.
