Carmel Rita Berryman

BERRYMAN (Teahan), Carmel Rita Pauline Agnes – 85, Halifax. Our mother, grandmother, great grandmother passed away peacefully July 8, 2012 with her loving family at her side after a short stay in hospital. Her life was dedicated to her family which grew over the decades as she mothered, befriended and protected a host of family friends. She led by example, teaching faith, hope and charity to her children and her grandchildren in their turn. Admired and cherished as a mother and friend, she will be sorely missed. Carmel was predeceased by her son, Cole Francis, her husband, Roy Francis Jr. and her sister Mary Teahan. She is survived by her brother Joseph Teahan (Iris), Moncton, NB; her seven children Cathy Gannon (James), Halifax; Cindy Moss (Duncan), Halifax; Christopher Berryman (Lois), Halifax; Charles Berryman (Linda), Dartmouth; Craig Berryman (Diane), Halifax; Clark Berryman, Halifax; Corinne Webber, Chester Basin; her 14 grandchildren Jaclyn Kwok (Francis); Russell, Ontario; Justin Gannon (Tamara), Halifax; Karen Veinot (Jonathan), Halifax; Kevin Berryman (Victoria), Halifax; Jenna Craine (Patrick), East Chezzetcook; Elizabeth Moss, Halifax; Meagan Berryman, Dartmouth; Cole Webber, Chester Basin, Emma Berryman, Dartmouth; Aaron Webber, Chester Basin; Liana Berryman, Halifax; Laura Berryman, Dartmouth; Luke Berryman, Halifax and Lily Berryman, Halifax, and her seven great-grandchildren Norah, Aiden, Noah, Simon, Audrey, Elena and Isaiah. Nana's home was always open to her family and a regular gathering place where good times and good food were always shared. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 10, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Cruikshank's Funeral Home, Windsor Street, Halifax. A funeral mass will take place Wednesday, July 11 at Saint Theresa's Church, North Street, Halifax. Because Carmel received such comfort from being able to participate in Mass from her home, in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation, in her memory may be made to The Daily Mass, National Catholic Broadcasting Council, www.canadiandailymass.com
