David was born June 27, 1949, in Sackville, N.B., son of John Rogerson and Henderkein Rogerson (Ebels). David was a proud first generation Canadian.
David was a graduate of Port Elgin Regional High School and then attended NBCC and attained his plumbing certification. He had a long and varied career in the trades, including a two-year stint in the Eastern Arctic – Carol, Ryan and Peter were along with David for the adventure. David spent over 20 years with the New Brunswick School Board as the Manager of Facilities. David wound up his career with Neptune Theatre as the Building Manager; he was definitely a star performer.
David continued his education throughout his life and completed various engineering courses at both TUNS and George Brown College.
David had a wide range of interests. He was an avid outdoorsman, curler, and builder of everything from a cabin in the woods to a dam. David was a member of the Westmoreland Masonic Lodge, Sackville Kinsmen and the Sackville Curling Club, where he served as President for a term. David’s strong sense of community ensured that he was there to assist in any emergency, and he never passed a hitchhiker or stranded motorist without stopping to offer his help.
David never lacked courage in any situation, and he passed through his final time with us with dignity, grace and his off-beat sense of humour intact. He was a force to be reckoned with.
