Donald Brian Campbell

Donald “Donnie” Brian Campbell, 60, of Halifax, Passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20th, 2012 AT home with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, He was the son of the late Finlay and Isabelle (Cameron) Campbell. Donnie put family above all else. From the day he was diagnosed with CNS Lymphoma, Donnie made every decision based on what would give him the best quality of life to be spent with his family. Donnie’s positive attitude never wavered throughout his year and a half battle. Special thanks to the hospital staff, palliative care and the VON who helped look after him at home during the last stages of his illness as well as family, friends and his supportive co-workers at Mill Supply.

Survived by his wife Ellen (Devanney); daughter Ashley; Two sons Liam and Benjamin; Sister Marian; Three brothers, Jack (Suzanne), David (Margaret) and Michael (Eilfan); Two grandchildren, Oliver and Finlay; As well as many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada or a charity of your choice. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Cruikshank Halifax Funeral Home where the Funeral Service will also be held at 11am on Wednesday, January 25, 2012. A reception will follow the service. Burial at a later date.
