Douglas Earle Hartlin

HARTLIN, Douglas Earle – 90 of Halifax, passed away Tuesday, November 30 at Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Building, Halifax. Born in Myers Point, Halifax County he was a son of the late Roland and Cora (Hill) Hartlin.

Douglas served during World War Two with the Princess Louise Fusiliers. After his service he worked 35 and a half years in the Federal Department of Public Works.

Survived by his wife of 63 years Shirley (McAndrew); son, Damon, Toronto; daughter, Andrea, Chezzetcook; grandson, Andrean, Japan; two great-grandchildren; sister, Eva Hartling, Halifax; three half brothers, Harry, William, Peter; several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by sister, Marjorie; brother, Roland.

A funeral service will be held 1 PM Friday, December 3 at Cruikshank’s Halifax Funeral Home, 2032 Robie Street with interment to follow at Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
