Edith Maude Sellers

Sellers (Pierce) Edith – 88 of Halifax, It is with loving memories and heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother. Surrounded by her family she passed away peacefully on July 23, 2011 in Bedford Ivany Place (Northwood). Born in Yarmouth County, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Annie (Ellis) Pierce. Surviving are sons, Frank (Sheila), Stephen (Sharon), Jim (Darlene), daughters, Sharon (Doug Leahy), Diane (Evan Penney), grandchildren David, Justin, Richard, Bobby, Scott, Michael; great grandchildren Brandon, Darrin, Nicholas, many nieces and nephews; brother Les, sisters Bessie Prescott, Elsie Outhouse, Evelyn Gray. She was predeceased by her husband Percy, son Allan, brothers Douglas, Charles, Willard, George and Joe. She retired after 25 years of service with the Department of National Defense. She had a talent for crafts and spent many hours making beautiful quilts for her family. Our family all agrees she was one fine baker and always made with love. She always looked after everyone around her, a generous, giving and caring mother and grandmother. Special thanks to the staff of the Bedford Ivany Place (Northwood) for the excellent care that was given to our mother this last year. Care that always went above and beyond, again heart felts thanks. Special thanks to Dr. Jack Sommers for his help and support. There will be a private service at a later date at our Mother’s request.
