Elizabeth Ann Martin (Walker), 80 years old, passed away March 17th at the QEII Hospital. Elizabeth retired from NS Power in 1993 after 35 years of dedicated service so that she could stay home and care for her elderly mother. She was very dedicated to her church where she made many faithful friends and helped connect with her caring neighbors.
Elizabeth is predeceased by her parents, Sydney and Priscilla Jean Walker; siblings, Ella (Hennigar), Douglas Walker, Jean (Jack), Helen (Grandy), and two brothers in infancy, Kenneth and Roy; and her former husband, Irvin Martin. She is survived by her siblings Gladys (Kenney), Robert (Karen), Donald (Dale), Harold (Joan), Dorothy (George); many nieces and nephews as well as Godchildren. Also her beloved dog, Angel, a beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Halifax Paramedic Team and to the staff of QEII 8.2 for all of their assistance. Special thanks to Elizabeth’s nephew, Roy Hennigar, for his dedication and his help in making the final arrangements. It would have been difficult without his help.
Visitation will be held at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, on Thursday, March 21, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A full Communion Service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 321 Main Ave, on Friday, March 22, at 11 am, with reception to follow. Burial will occur at a later date. Family flowers only please.
